Start or end a chore on the exact frame
The motor rising from nothing opens a chore and its fall closes one. The change is obvious against speech, so the beat lands in an advert or an animated gag.

Vacuum Cleaner

Vacuum cleaner sounds for animation, games, and video edits
Steady motor
An even suction drone with an airy rush riding over it. The plain running upright, and the one that says housework the second it comes up.
Spin-up
The motor climbing out of silence into its working drone. The starting sound, for the moment somebody flicks the switch.
Over carpet
Suction turning into a muffled roar as the head presses into thick pile. Heavier and duller than a bare floor, and it furnishes the room by itself.
Over hard floor
A brighter, airier tone as the head glides over boards, with the odd rattle of grit going up the tube. Sharper and higher than carpet.
Handheld whine
A thin high motor with light suction behind it. The small machine, meaning a car footwell or a quick crumb sweep rather than a whole room.
Winding down
Pitch dropping and the fan spinning loose as the switch goes off. The closing sound, a drone falling away to nothing.

Ways to use a vacuum cleaner sound effect
When a tidying montage needs a pulse
A steady motor gives a tidying sequence something to move against while a score would take the scene over. It carries a tutorial or a cutscene on its own.
Edit prompt
Thick carpet or bare boards
The head deepens into a muffled roar over pile and brightens over boards, telling the audience what floor they are on before the camera tilts down.

Someone cleaning in the next room
A drone through a wall places a person elsewhere in the house, so a hallway shot has a household around it and no second setup to light.

FAQs
What is a vacuum cleaner sound effect?
It is the sound of a vacuum running, from the motor spinning up, through the steady suction drone, to the wind-down as it switches off. On screen it does a lot with very little: it sets a home, fills a housework montage, and puts a person cleaning in a room you never have to film.
Where can I get a vacuum cleaner sound for a video?
Generate one rather than search for it. Describing the vacuum you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact motor and floor your scene needs instead of the closest available clip. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom vacuum cleaner sound effect?
Describe the vacuum, the surface it runs over, and whether it is starting or stopping, then generate it. A prompt like "a steady vacuum motor, an even suction drone" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until the sound fits your cut.
What is the difference between vacuuming carpet and a hard floor?
Vacuuming carpet is a muffled, deeper roar as the head presses into the pile, while a bare hard floor is brighter and airier with a faint rattle of grit. Picking the wrong one is the most common reason a vacuum feels off, because each tells the audience a different kind of floor.
Can I use these vacuum cleaner sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated rather than pulled from a shared library, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my vacuum cleaner sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the surface is wrong rather than the timing. A bright bare-floor rush under a shot of someone working thick carpet reads as fake, because the ear expects the muffled roar of the pile. Say the floor the head is on when you generate it, and the sound sits in the scene with far less mixing.
